Program Description
The Charles C. Chappelle Fellowship was established to provide fellowship support to students with undergraduate degrees from Purdue for the furtherance of post-graduate research at Purdue University. Chappelle Fellows will be selected on the basis of character, intellectual ability, and promise of attainment.

Qualifications
Purdue seniors (any campus) who are admitted to a degree-seeking graduate program (West Lafayette campus only) for the Fall 2005 semester are eligible to apply.

Award
The tenure of the award is one year, and the Graduate School provides
• Stipend
• Tuition scholarships
• Medical insurance supplement
• Technology fee
1The minimum stipend level is $14,000; however, the academic program determines the actual stipend level.

Application Materials
Qualified seniors should submit the following materials to Fellowship Office, Graduate School, YONG:
1. an official transcript;
2. the name of a Purdue faculty member with whom the student has studied or worked that will submit a letter of recommendation directly to the Graduate School by the application deadline;
3. curriculum vitae or resume;
4. an essay (1000 words or less) addressing the impact Purdue has had on the student’s development through learning, discovery, and engagement.

Award Conditions
Recipients must:
  • be admitted to Purdue in a degree-granting program;
  • maintain a valid e-mail address with the Fellowship Office;
  • submit an annual Academic Progress Report;
  • enroll for at least nine credits in the fall & spring sessions and enroll for at least six credits during the summer session. Fellows who are not registered during the summer session will not receive a stipend in May, June, and July.
